The Reverbamate
No longer available, sorry!
Are you one of those who wish their vintage amp had reverb that would do justice to its tone? One of those who pass on less expensive vintage amps just because it was a non-reverb model? Start playing more inspired blues, jazz or rock and roll with your non-reverb amp. You can with the Reverbamate by VanAmps.
The Reverbamate by VanAmps is the last word in reverb for your tone. Imagine a reverb so lush and detailed that you cant distinguish it from the sound of a vintage tube reverb amp and in some cases far exceeds the standard we have all come to respect. What makes this reverb so different? Lets start with engineering.
Most amplifiers manufactured now days, including some tube amps, use solid state circuits poorly designed for the application, with little regard to the spring tank's physical and electrical requirements. At VanAmps we have solved these issues and designed a true spring tank reverb that will satisfy the most demanding of tone hounds using our patent pending circuitry along with quality components and hardware.
The Reverbamate has two outputs, a direct output and a reverb output. This allows for the utmost in flexibility. Utilizing both channels on a vintage or modern amp, the musician can separately adjust for the exact reverb requirement for their particular taste by using the tone and volume controls of the amp. This coupled with the output level and dwell controls on the Reverbamate make for some mighty tasty reverb effects. There is even an auxiliary switch so you can switch your tremolo right there with your reverb.
*** Note that the REVERB output is 100% wet signal - no dry signal comes out at all, just the reverb sound. You need to use the DRY output into a 2nd channel on your amp or another amp to get normal sounds. This allows some awesome possibilities like running the WET output through a delay pedal, with 100% delayed setting. This way only the reverb is delayed, just like Jimmy Page did in the studio on his awesome work with Led Zeppelin. You can hear this in the intro to "whole lotta love" with the dry guitar on the left and reverb delayed on the right. You can hear what 100% wet reverb sounds like, on another Led Zeppelin song. The very end of Over The Hills And Far Away is an oddly reverberated guitar, that is 100% wet reverb with no dry signal.
If you are going to use just one amp, it should have 2 seperate channels, with volume and tone controls for each channel, not just two inputs, for best results. One channel will be your normal (dry) sound and one channel will be PURE reverb. You can control the volume and tone of the reverb channel to get the exact sound you like. An amp with one channel and two inputs might work ok, but at high gain settings you may have feedback problems.
Built to last using stainless steel hardware and covered in quality Tolex coverings in vintage brown, black, cream and also available in tweed. Custom coverings also available by special order.
The Reverbamate runs on two 9-volt batteries or with the included 12vAC adaptor which is made for 120V AC USA power. This adaptor will also work fine in Japan at 100V AC. The T-REX FUEL TANK power supply will power this reverb along with 9 other outputs, see my T REX page for more info. We may be able to supply EURO spec 12V AC adaptors for $20. if your country (UK, Australia, etc) does not use the standard Euro power plug, you can use a plug adapter on the power supply.
