This is a pre-built Sun Face with BC183 Silicon transistors, side jacks, Red LED, and power jack, no other options available. Order the Custom Sun Face if you want different options (we may be able to mod one of these for you if you need it soon).
BC183 is the closest Silicon transistor to our Germaniums, very popular.
The Sunface has many transistor options, there is no BEST transistor, they are all very similar but have some differences that could make some better than others for your needs.

BC183 : Medium high gain. I like these best for a general silicon fuzz. Almost all the silicon transistors sound about the same if you use trans with the same gain ranges. But these BC183 are all in the right gain range so it's easier to make a more consistent and excellent sounding fuzz. These are really smooth, almost like a germanium sound and people often are surprised at how well they clean up.
Here are descriptions of the options that this pedal comes with:
LED: lights up when on - doesn’t suck much battery power ;)
Power Jack: Necessary if you do not want to power by battery or easier if you want to use a virtual battery. Traditional Fuzz players always used a battery for optimum tone - Many players use a power jack now and do not find a huge difference in tone/sound. If you get the power jack you will have the option of powering by battery or by any Boss style 9V DC Isolated power supply. Having the power jack installed does not change the tone of the pedal.
