The Black Cat Vibe was the flagship of the original Black Cat product
line. It garnered a reputation among many as the best Univibe
recreation ever made, and can still be found in the rigs of many
well-known players. We've taken every measure to ensure that the new
Black Cat Vibe will sound identical to its legendary predecessor. In
addition, we've incorporated some improvements that will allow each unit
to be more durable, reliable and consistently produced than the
originals.
The Stereo Black Cat Vibe uses the same circuit
as the original Black Cat Vibe, with the addition of two exciting new
features:
1) Second output jack for true stereo operation, and
2)
Enhanced power supply circuitry to accommodate 12V DC power, or 12V AC
(like the original).
That's right, the new Stereo Black Cat Vibe now runs on DC power,
which makes it compatible with any multi-pedal brick type power supply
unit that can supply 12V DC with a minimum current of 400mA.

Are there any demos of the new Black Cat Vibe?

Does it have the flashing light thingy inside?
Yes, the Black Cat Vibe is a real authentic vibe, based on the original
Univibe made famous by Jimi Hendrix, Robin Trower, and David Gilmour. It
uses a flashing lamp and four photocells to create its distinctive
sound. The Black Cat Vibe also uses another lamp for the indicator,
whereas most other Univibe based effects use an LED.
Is this the same as the original Black Cat Vibe made by Fred Bonte?
Well, obviously it looks different. But yes, the circuit is the same as
the original Black Cat Vibe. In fact, we auditioned several original
Black Cat Vibes, picked the sweetest sounding one and reverse engineered
it to create the new Black Cat Vibe.
